I've only ever seen Atom processors in the extremely low end machines and probably netbooks (which I don't like how slow they are). Though this is just on demo floors. I've never actually owned one.
I have a media system with a dual core Atom and NVIDIA Ion. What's the issue?

Kewl! You have first hand experience. So are you using it mainly as an HTPC? Or as a NAS? How is it with Hulu, Netflix, etc. How is HD video on it? How is audio and video processing? What OS are you using?
I'm looking at some Asus barebones and ASRock nettops. I'm not a big gamer, but I do like to do lots of stuff with a machine.
My roommate gave me an Acer Aspire Revo for Christmas, and I hooked it to a spare LCD monitor I have and have been using for a small media center for my bedroom. I have watched movies on it, used it for Hulu, haven't used it with Netflix as I normally am watching that on my XBox 360, but I have a HD Television USB Stick hooked on it and can watch live television with no problems. It came with Windows XP Home, but from what I have read so far, you can put Windows 7 on it with no problems. I bought a USB Blu-Ray drive and have been very pleased with it so far.

You have a very generous roommate. :-) I've been thinking about the Aspire Revo. They're pretty good according to Newegg. Thanks for the feedback!
