It's almost as violent as Gladiator or Braveheart.
But the effects are great. All those slowmo-slicing of legs,
flying limbs. Awesome!
The problem with Gladiator and Braveheart was that the graphic scenes were obscured with speed, fraction-of-a-second shots, and dark environments.
In 300, they emphasized the graphic scenes amazingly with almost bullet-time effects and bright backgrounds.
As for the story, it's history, stretched out for more than an hour. It's really more about war.
It's got hot guys, too!
It's a highly recommendable movie.
