About I Want My Money Back

Previous Entry I Want My Money Back Jan. 14th, 2008 @ 07:33 am Next Entry
Yesterday, we watched "In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale"

I didn't like it, so I might as well spoil it under the cut.

It was not my idea to watch it. But houbeardad, waytru, Kent and I went to Marq*E to watch it. I was cringing while watching the whole movie.

The dialogues are horrible. They were trying to do everything from comedy, action, LOTR-ish fights, Star Wars-like scenarios (3 battles in different locations).

What's good was that it was an all-star cast: Burt Reynolds, Jason Stotham, Ray Liotta, John Rhys-Davies, and others. The costumes are great.

I am so disappointed because with all those veteran actors, they failed so much in delivering. Just my opinion.

Stotham was doing the "Transporter" style of fighting. And there are Ninjas! Ninjas during medieval England! WTF? Joan of Arc was there and her character was so insignificant in the movie. And Stotham was magically bound books. Get it? Book bound?!

Okay, okay, okay. It's scifi fantasy, but this was really stretching it.

I was at the verge of walking away from the movie. It was as bad as Waterworld, or The Postman.

I want my money back.

Actually its supposed to be based off the game Dungeon Siege.. not sure if it does the game any justice. [And yes there ARE ninjas in the game...] Not sure about Joan of Arc.. tho I think in one of the downloadable quests there was one where you had to save someone from possesed literature.

Yeah, I did find that it is based on a game. Making movies out of a game doesn't always work.

The only good gaming movie I liked [or tolerated] was the 1st Mortal Kombat.. the 2nd one was bad. Tho the D&D movie 2 was better than the first one..

What did you expect? It's Uwe Boll, the same man who gave us Bloodrayne and Alone In The Dark

And I hated Bloodrayne! I was about to say that it was like Bloodrayne.

Uwe Boll directed it, I could have told you that without seeing it. I've never paid any money for any of his movies and I've been glad of that. I've hated everyone.

We should have!

I will never pay to watch a Uwe Boll movie ever again! That was Power Ranger swith LOTR with so many other movies all mashed into one. And done with Duck Tape. It was a bit amusing at times. Meynard, next time this happens, we are walking out and demanding our money back or going to a different movie!

Yes! The Kite Runner was a very good movie. A bit heavy in subject matter but good cinema.

We went to see it Friday night. I predicted a number of plot points, so, yes, the story was lame. However, I just started focusing on the eye candy. I can't believe I hadn't noticed Brian J. White before. He was the black commander of the army with the nice trimmed beard. Burt Reynolds has clearly had too much plastic surgery and while John Rhys-Davies looked slimmer than I remember, he was a lot more haggard looking in the face.

I have to admit that there were hotties there.

I think John Rhys-Davies was the only one decent there. Acting-wise that is.
