I need your help guys on some feedback.

A Bear's Life Magazine is offering Gold Membership Cards that will provide discounts to various businesses (like hotels, airlines, restaurants and retail stores). It also includes a GLAAD membership, one year subscription to the magazine and digital copy.

It sells at $95 until Dec. 31, 2009.

What do you guys think of this? Is it worth exploring for you? Any positive or negative reactions to the Gold Membership?

I saw those. It's too expensive above the cost of the subscription. None of the other benefits are substantial enough to make it worth it, to me. I get discounts galore from AAA and professional associations.

Truthfully, I've cut back on any and all "memberships" to anything. Magazine subscriptions, gym subscriptions, etc. The only things I have left are items which I can guarantee I'm using completely for their worth.

While the "Gold Membership" has some benefits, I suspect most of the benefit is really for the Magazine and parent company. And you have to decide if you want to support them or not.

*shrug* I don't see it as enough for me to get myself as literally nothing is available for St. Louis. :(

compare 95$ with this 'gold' card with some major credit cards that have an annual fee of 120$ per year:

you get some awesome 'gay' benefits that you've mentioned, but doesn't this become a little insular in thinking among gay people. In this regard I agree with Niebuck.

If you had the TD Infinite Visa, for example, you'd get 20,000 points, see attached link:

I don't think it's worth it (I'm also a member of AAA, so already get travel discounts around the country). I personally can't stand GLAAD...they tend to give awards to the "brave" straight actors who play gay roles but ignore the fact that those portrayals are negative stereotypes (I'm looking at YOU, Will and Grace!), ignore out gay actors, make fusses over things that actually aren't anti-gay at all (the whole "faggot" kerfluffle on "South Park" a few weeks ago, for example), and generally do nothing of importance whatsoever.
